Testing Packages

Testing packages are generally utilised once the main bulk of the website development has been completed and is ready for testing, prior to launch.

We provide the following website testing packages. Each package can be adapted to suit your specific requirements, please contact us for details.

Static web site testing package:

  • Navigate to each page checking formatting and page layout whilst clicking on each and every link and proof reading all copy, headings and other communications.
  • Test main functions of the web site including site search and newsletter signup if those functions exist.
  • Check that each page displays correctly in each of the main browsers and resolutions**.
  • Check that the legal aspects are in place including terms & conditions, privacy policy and terms of use, as required. Please note that we will not be in a position to check the content of the legal pages, just make sure they are there and displaying content correctly.
  • Check that text version and any other accessibility features work correctly such as increasing text size.
  • Check that all HTML and CSS code is standards compliant.
  • Run security checks to ensure that the site does not suffer from any of the main security attacks such as XSS scripting attacks.
  • Check that anywhere that a user submits a form such as a contact form, competition entry or feedback form validates correctly, submits and the data is captured in a database and/or is emailed.
  • Check that Google Analytics is in place or if other analytics code is used to track statistics.
  • Check that each page has a title tag and meta tags and also check that the main images have alt tags.
  • Check that there is a custom 404 page in place.
  • Provide assistance in drawing up a launch checklist plus a further testing checklist if required.
  • Full report showing a breakdown of the testing completed including sections, pages and functions tested.
  • Specific items logged in bug tracking software or in a spreadsheet for assigning to a developer to fix.

Cost – £445.00 (based on a 12 page web site, £45 per page above 12 pages)

Content managed web site testing package:

  • All items in the static web site testing package, including;
  • Main functions that the content management system is capable of such as editing content on pages, adding a new page and changing the order of articles (the exact functions will vary greatly depending on your content management system).

Cost – £595.00 (based on a 12 page web site with content management system, £59 per page above 12 pages)

Ecommerce web site testing package:

  • All items in the content managed web site testing package, including:
  • Submission of test payments to ensure that the checkout and payment processing is fully working.
  • Additional security checks to make sure that SSL certificates are in place.
  • Spot checking of product details and pricing.

Cost – POA

Web site with login area testing package:

  • All items in the static web site testing package, including;
  • Testing of main functions behind login screen or functions only available to site members.
  • Browser compatibility testing of the above functions.

Web application testing package:

Pricing and test plan available on request, as it depends on the application and its specific functions to be able to put together a reasonable estimate of time and cost involved.
