By launching a comprehensive online treatment platform, US-based team Within Health has revolutionised how millions of people can receive clinical care for eating disorders. While being involved in the platform for quality assurance since 2021, WebDepend worked alongside US-based design studio NoNameYet to comprehensively test new features that Within required to expand and deliver their virtual treatment and therapy.
Founded in 2021, Within launched an innovative new virtual platform to provide treatment, therapy, and support to help people of all ages overcome eating disorders. While based in Miami, FL, Within employs a licensed care team of 85 people covering 37 states alongside a team of specialist advisors.
Designed and created by the NoNameYet team, Within covers a streamlined web and app-based virtual treatment experience. Combined, they allow patients to attend therapy sessions, connect and check in with their care team across multiple touch points, submit vital statistics, and have access to the tools and support they need for recovery.
Having worked with NoNameYet on previous projects, WebDepend joined the Within project in 2021for ongoing quality assurance, alongside cross-platform testing for the app and platform integration with smart health devices.
While NoNameYet’s input to the Within project encompassed branding, logo design, and product strategy, it also covered the UI, UX, technology, and connectivity requirements to provide a stable, reliable, and secure virtual treatment experience while empowering those using it.
With virtual therapy gaining popularity since the pandemic, an exceptional user experience is vital right across the platform. As Within has rapidly grown in a short time, our challenge was to ensure complete testing of all the new features.
This testing would ensure the Within team could efficiently deliver the required treatment while patients could use the mobile app effectively and intuitively to receive and engage with the care team.
With a user-centric approach, we prioritised testing to accommodate Within’s needs from the perspective of the patients, as well as the clinical and management teams, in expanding and delivering their virtual treatment.
Our comprehensive testing covered every aspect of the Within platform, encompassing the main website, the web app, and the mobile app, for functionality across standard web browsers and devices, guaranteeing a smooth user experience and optimal functionality.
The testing scope was also extended to smart health devices to ensure integration with the Within platform and provide vital health statistics for patients on a daily basis.
The collaboration between WebDepend and NoNameYet has not only contributed to the platform's growth but, more importantly, has positively impacted the lives of people seeking treatment for eating disorders through an effective virtual healthcare platform.
With the platform's help, Within’s good work is reflected in their post-treatment statistics. An impressive 86% of patients reported an improvement in their quality of life, with an equivalent percentage experiencing a reduction in eating disorder symptoms.
