This major hotel booking system powered bookings for well known hotel chains, such as Sandman in Canada and USA and European hotel brands such as Lindtner, DOCO and Laval.
The full platform consisted of several parts, including the main booking engine and central admin system, separate booking admin for each hotel brand, content management systems for each of the frontend websites, an API that connected each frontend website with the booking engine and accompanying iOS and Android apps. We were involved in testing major feature updates and new frontend websites and mobile apps for all the hotel brands for a period of 3 years.
Our testing covered all these aspects of the platform, whether it was an update to the central booking engine that could affect all the hotel sites, or development work for individual hotel brands or testing a new hotel mobile app.
The testing needed to be thorough and handle the many conditions and individual rules and booking engine features that each hotel brand used.
In addition to hotel sites, we also tested related projects that used the same booking engine including Canadian destination group sites for beVancouver, beEdmonton and beCalgary.
We developed test plans and regression suites for testing the main aspects of a hotel website, a hotel native iOS or Android app. We also developed specific test plans for testing new features for Sandman and hotel booking system updates where we needed to ensure frontend sites had not been adversely affected.
Overall, we were on hand to carry out testing across the entire platform and including front end testing, native mobile app testing as well as back end, database and API testing.
